How it works…

Contact me today to arrange a discussion about your project and get a quote.

Once you’ve made contact, I will be in touch to arrange an initial chat over the phone or by video call. This just gives me an opportunity to find out a bit more about your project and the kind of work you require.

All initial consultations are completely free and non-committal.

For most editing and proofreading jobs, I will ask to see a short, representative sample of the text (usually around two or three pages) so that I can get an idea of the kind of work that will be needed and the amount of time this will take.

How are quotes calculated?

Once we have discussed the project, I will be able to provide a quote.

Because my services are tailored to the specific needs of clients, I do not have a list of set rates published on my website; instead, prices vary depending on the nature of the project and the type of work required.

As a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, I use the organisation’s suggested minimum rates to inform the calculation of quotes. However, this is just a starting point. I will also consider factors such as the word count of the document or manuscript, the complexity of the text, the type of editorial work that is needed and the timeframe for the project.

I am always happy to discuss how a quote has been calculated, so do let me know if you have any questions.

Do you do sample edits?

Yes, I offer sample edits for copyediting and proofreading services. I charge a small fee for a short sample (usually around 1,000 words). If we end up working together for the rest of the project, this fee will be deducted from the total cost. Unfortunately, I am not able to offer sample edits for structural editing or manuscript assessment services, due to the nature of this kind of work.
